Daily Routine
I prefer the idea of a routine rather than a schedule. Our routine has flexibility on a day to day basis depending on the moods of the children, the weather, and what our lessons of the week are. Where you see the phrase "Free Play," we may be playing inside or outside, doing an arts and crafts project, going on a walk, or just making a big mess inside! I like to keep these parts of our day flexible so we can go with the flow of the day and not be restricted to a regimented schedule.
7:30 am to 9:00 am -- Children are arriving for the day
9:00 am -- Clean up time
9:15 am -- Circle Time and storytime
9:45 am -- Snack Time
10:00 am -- Free Play
11:30 am -- Clean up time
11:45 pm -- Lunch (stories read to kids as they are eating)
12:15 pm -- Quiet/Nap Time (The children get up at different times, but are not allowed to wake the other children who are still sleeping. There are quiet activities such as coloring or reading to do while the other children rest.)
3:00 pm -- Snack Time
3:15 pm to 5:30-- Free Play until Pick Up
